need help understanding need for wireless adapter

We are going to be purchasing a series 2 tivo. Our home has a wireless network with 2 computers connected to it. We have 2 televisions, but we will only be getting 1 tivo. I have read about the Tivo to Go, and the Wireless adapter- it seems that you automatically have access to the Tivo to Go with our without hte adapter, correct? Does this allow us to transfer video to our computers in our network? If so, what exactly would we need a network adapter for?
And also- is there a way to transfer any of the shows to the television that does not have the tivo? Or would we need to purchase a second tivo for that to work?
It's all so confusing!

For each T.V. , you would need a tivo and a network adapter for each tivo. This would provide you with the Home Media Option including Tivo to Go, Multiroom viewing, photos, music etc
You will need the wireless adapter for any network connectivity at all. The exception is if you get the DT (dual tuner) model which has an Ethernet jack and you connected it to a wired network. If you are going strictly wireless, you must use the adapter.

With the adapter, you get TiVoToGo to your PC. As for the other TVs, there are products that will relay a signal through your house to a remote TV, "Rabbit" is one brand name. But a second TiVo connected to the network will allow you to copy shows back and forth and is a nicer experience.
wow- thanks for the quick replies! We will be getting the dual tuner one but I don't believe we would be able to easily connect it to our router (is that what I would need to do to make it work without the adapter?)

Yes. If you could run an ethernet cord from the router to te TiVo then you would not need to use the wireless adapter. If this is not practical for you then you will want to pick up a wireless adapter. The one that TiVo sells is probably your best bet.
thanks for the help! We will be getting the network adapter!
Also if you're going to get updates via your network, instead of having the Tivo make phone calls, you'll need to either run a wire from your Tivo to your router or go with a wireless adapter. The Tivo needs to contact the mother ship to work. Tivo contacts the mother ship to make sure you have a valid account, without a valid account the Tivo is nothing more than a paper weight. Tivo also contacts the mother ship to update the guide data .
Yep- we realized that we dont even have a phone jack near the television so we will need the wireless adapter anyway- sounds like it will make ALOT of things easier!
Now I gotta get hoppin before the new season starts on all my shows!
