It's a hacked DVR-80, and it worked fine for a few months, now I get no channels and it says to call customer service. and if I look in messages it says there is a hardware problem and to reboot, which I have done a few times.

Any ideas? Is it ok to call customer service if you have a hacked Tivo, or will they disown you or something if they find out it's hacked?

They will disown you if they know it's hacked, but the hack is unlikely the issue. Sounds like your Access Card might be a problem. I would call them and work it out.

Is there anyway they can find out or tell it's hacked unless I tell them it's hacked?

Unless you have had the unit calling in (and even then it is a stretched).

A Hacked TiVo in the ssense that it does more then it was supposed to...
Nah... they really can't tell unless you tell them.

And to a marginal degree, they don't care as you are ultimately not stealing their video feed thus you are still paying for the functions they offer.... you are just adding some more.
