I have been trying players for months now and I cant find one that will work. I have done the Media player9 no good then do the all intrusive Media Player 10 - It just gives me 3/4 green screen the rest is digital hash. I paid for and installed Cyberlink DVD- no good alls it does is lock up and send useless crash reports. I installed Winamp - Nope but looks cool, I installed the All in one Codecs - Nope, I tried Quicktime - nothin, Also DIVX no luck. Also tried Zoom Player. Then VLC Media player STILL NOTHING!!!

I REALLY dont want to pay for another player, or use a freebie that has all intrusive adware or spyware. There has got to be something that actually works. We pay for the Tivo service heck they should supply something that will work.  AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

Please does anyone have the answer to this problem. I'd be VERY GREATFUL!!! Thanks in advance

Longshot... Is there an update for your video card from either the manufacturer or Windows update (custom)?

I'll try it tonight. Thanks very much!!

I have tried to configure on 3 different Computers so I know its not single machine configuration problem.

---------------------------------------------

Just tried it here at work and nope got the Green 3/4 screen with digital hash on top. And it skipped through the file.

I'm getting to the point I wonder if its the actual Tivo file that was recorded by the Tivo? It plays ok on the Tivo though??? I'm STUMPED!!!!

This sounds like what I would expect to see if the Tivo Desktop/Tivo DirectShow filter is not installed and is not being pulled into the DirectShow playback graph. In that case, no player will render the file because no other filter can decrypt the file. You could try reinstalling the desktop or downloading Microsoft GraphEdit from videohelp.com and using it to render the file. This will show you the graph that is actually being created – the Tivo Filter MUST be the first one in the chain or it will never work…

I seem to recall I had a similar problem with the display like that. I had to re-enter my media access key in the Tivo desktop software. Somehow it got corrupted and I was viewing the 'scrambled' video. Not sure if you have the same problem.
