That was a great reference. I didn't get it when Gibbs then called him "elf lord" however. Was that just a generic "geek" slam, or did it mean something specific?

McGee plays some sort of role-playing game online... it was mentioned in previous episodes. Gibbs clearly knows about it and was just ragging on McGee.

Me, too. That was just perfect, with Gibbs smiling and Abby's expressions. Pauley did a great job...

nah! he just knows which buttons to push (or which head to smack ) for all his people.

The whole bit finishing with that peck on the cheek for Abby was priceless. I had to rewind it a few times, I was laughing so hard.

I though Gibbs was completely out of line letting a MAYBE defector disarm the bomb instead of calling the bomb squad. What WAS he thinking?

It was quite the bomb too. Since it was in a truck, they could have just driven it to a quarry or something.

He was thinking it was set to go off fairly soon?

A) It, more likely than not, had motion-based triggers that would be active once the bomb was armed, to prevent just such an attempt.

2) They were in the middle of an upscale, country-club neighborhood. Not a lot of quarries nearby.

What a horrible episode to watch when you have a cold and can't laugh because it makes you cough your guts out.

First there was McGee's line that Allie cited:

"Did you ever stop to think that maybe I am the plucky comic relief?"

Then the whole scene where Abby does her lines and Gibbs' lines, too....

And it was fun to see Gibbs playing "good cop" in the interrogation room.

As a whole, maybe not the best episode -- but as usual, lots of wonderful character moments to make up for the technical blunders.
