I guess I was slow to pick up on the traitor running the dock security office. In retrospect I should have been suspicious when he got angry that DiNozzo and David weren't coordinating their movements through him.

But it wasn't until he gave Gibbs the wrong directions that I realised he was assisting the terrorists.

The suspicious look on his face when they were teleconferencing with HQ made me yell "he's in out it." Besides the fact, they should never have had that telconference visible to everyone in the dock office.

I sure that sexual innunendos between Tony and Ziva don't turn into a repeat of he and Kate. I liked that they had more of a "pal" relationship until they did that undercover op together. I get SO sick of the quasi-romance thing on network TV.

Also, some of the idiotic things Zeva and Tony did while locked in the container were just a bit farfetched to believe of two experienced agents. Basically, from the time they went in there for cover, they weren't being too smart IMHO.

I'm getting tired of the "Ziva gets her sayings wrong" thing. Was funny for maybe two episodes, now its just old hat.

My brother-in-law may have been driving the fork-lift on this episode of NCIS, but I'll need to zoom in really close to know for sure. Does anyone know how I can achieve the "infinite zoom with crystal clarity" capability as seen on Las Vegas or CSI? I hope it's freeware.

That was the first episode I ever saw.. I thought it was pretty good.. although Ziva looks more hispanic than she does Hebrew. Who wants to use their $100 bills to see if that burning trick is true? :)
Burn less than half of it and they'll replace it (or is that an urban legend?)

All US currency is made from the same material... it's a custom-blended linen. Sacrificing a $1 bill should have the same results as burning a C-note...

I agree that this episode was not that great. I do like the interaction between Ziva and Tony. It is a little like him and Kate but not exactly.

I loved Tony's line about your life would have had more meaning if we would have slept together.

It is 100% true. I once had a $100 bill that was torn in half that a friend gave me. He thought it was worthless so he just let me have it. Well, I the half I had was larger than the other half that was missing. And by larger, I mean I had BARELY over 50% of the bill.

I sent it to the US Treasury. They have a special department for damaged currency. About a month later, I received a check for $100.

Okay, this is only my first full episode. I saw a bit of last weeks.
Are they not in the Navy? How does the girl dressed in punk clothes get away with that in the Navy? Why doesn't anybody use rank?
They are not in the Navy.

From the NCIS Web site:
NCIS is a primarily civilian agency that reports directly to the Secretary of the Navy, who is a civilian appointed by the President, and is thus outside both the Navy and Marine Corps chain of command.

Thank you. That helps a lot. Here I was trying to find information from TV.com and the like and never thought to check the real NCIS's website.
Anyhow, I am enjoying it well enough so far.

It might help to know that Gibbs used to be a Marine, and Ziva is on loan from Mossad.

I believe everyone else we've seen at NCIS were always civilians, never in the military. DeNozzo was and ex-police officer (Baltimore IIRC).
(Kate who is no longer on the show was ex-Secret Service).

And in the JAG crossover that was the NCIS pilot, when Harm was trying to intimidate Gibbs during his interrogation, Gibbs treated us to a bit of exposition concerning NCIS agents' roles relative to the military:

Gibbs: I'm not smart enough to play risky games with a lawyer of your caliber, Rabb.

Harm: That's Commander Rabb. Or Commander. Or sir. Gunny. I believe as a reservist you're still technically in the Marine Corps.

Gibbs: I am an NCIS Special Agent, and I don't have to salute you, or sir you, or give you any military courtesy, but you know that. So who's playing the games here?

Oh, I just remembered. The discussion of how the GPS location on the cell phone worked annoyed me. A GPS enabled phone doesn't transmit anything to a satellite (well, unless it is also an Iridium sat phone :)).

It calculates it position based on signals received from the GPS satellites, but the only way it can report its position to anyone (911 for example) is over the cell network. If you can't talk you (probably) can't send a GPS location. (The probably, because it could theoretically be sent as an SMS message, or in a network data transmission that could be sent during a moment of brief connectivity that was too short to complete a call in). So the whole graphic of the cell sending a signal to the satellite in orbit was just all wrong.

Of course NCIS isn't the only show to get this wrong, but it is annoying because getting it right would be just as easy.
