Hi, All:

Here is my frustration and I hope someone has a permanent answer.

I have had my Tivo for a little over a year. This situation has happened twice. The last one happened Monday night.

All of a sudden and for no reason Tivo stops recording programs, even though they show up on the Season Pass and the To Do list.

The official Tivo support solution is to unplug the unit and remove the telephone connection for about 5 minutes and then re-plug everything in. This works but since I can't predict the future, I don't know when Tivo is going to stop recording.

Any suggestions for a more permanent solution?

Thanks,

John

Well, twice in one year isn't too bad for a computer-based device :)

Seriously, these things do happen with Tivos. 99.9% of the time a reboot will clear things right up. But you're right .... it's a pain when it happens, and there's no way to know when it might happen.

Just a suggestion but you can put the Tivo and cable box on a UPS so in case of a power outage in the home your recordings will not be affected.

its also nice when your power is out in the home but you can still watch about 1 hour show off the UPS power before it dies.
