Ok I prepped my wife for the bad news. for the past week the living room Bolt is is rebooting endlessly with a green square windows saying it found a error and it will take 3 hours or more.

Well that worked the first 2 days. now I just want to tell it to reboot the 12tb drive in it. it has the old 3 version software in it.

how can I do taht without having to plug the drive to my computer?

can't remember what I used 2 years ago to format that 12tb drive , I do remember that the bolt formatted it to a 3tb as I recall ? want to do that again

Why do you want to waste a 12tb drive by not formatting it properly? In any event, you might want to pull it and introduce another drive; boot up with that; then put the 12tb drive in and reboot. Also, you have to ask yourself, why isn't the tiVo working now with the 12tb? Could be bad?
