We have a Direct TV satellite dish (single, round) that has two cables coming out of into a multiswitch in the attic so we can split out to three . One to the lving room, one to our sons room, and one to the bedroom where the Tivo R10 is located.

If/when the multiswitch is connected, the R10 will lose signal on some channels, or not show up at all. If I remove the multiswitch, all channels are available on the R10. This only affects the R10. I've rebooted and gone through the setup etc. but it will still lose channels if a multiswitch is connected.

I'll bet there's something simple that this "non-techy" needs to fix this, but appreciate any help someone can offer.

Since you only have 1 cable run to the R10, do you have it set up as a single tuner? Is that single cable connected to the Tuner 1 input of the R10?

By the way, the R10 is not a Tivo. It is a DirecTV DVR powered by Tivo. That's why it has its own forum a few down from this one.

Thanks for the info. I'll need to double check the model, since I remember getting the model that was NOT the direct TV version that was about to come out. Or, I guess I was getting the previous generation platform before they changed to the R15.
I did bypass the multiswitch and all works fine. I'll try again to swap the input locations on the multiswitch, since it does show two different input values on it.

Thanks again

It's probably an R10 like you said. I was just correcting you in that you are in a Tivo help form. This is for stand alone Tivos. Technically your R10 is not a Tivo. It's a DireTV DVR that runs Tivo software. That's why it has a different forum section.

You didn't answer my question about the single coax and whether or not it is set up for single tuner operations.
