I have a Roamio Pro and a couple of newer TiVo minis. The minis are constantly losing connectivity to the Pro. Everything is copper and my switches appear to be fine. Sometimes I have greyed out menu items on the mini with a message about can't find the host and other times when I go to play a show on the mini from the Pro it just says content not found. I reboot the mini and all is fine for awhile.
My network consists of a Ubiquiti EdgeMax router and I have two ISPs/WAN ports configured for redundancy. So my question to TiVo Support if they are reading these, do the TiVos just need to be on the same subnet or do they also have to have the same WAN address in order to talk to each other with no issues? I can force all my TiVos to go out the same WAN port if I have to but that seems to defeat the purpose of being able to load balance my traffic.

Thank you. I do have a reserved IP on the Pro/host but not the Minis. Just added reserved addresses for them as well and will see if that makes a difference.
i have 7 minis , all my Tivo Devices are on their own dedicated switch (uplinked to another switch) using the same IP scheme and DHCP source as the rest of my network, i have had no connectivity issues ever
Same Lan network is all that matters. Wan in irrelevant to Tivo <-> Tivo connections. Mini's only care that their packets always make it across the network (they don't react well to a single dropped packet), and that they agree that they are on the 'same network' in that their base IP address (ip address bitand netmask) is the same.
The most common problem with Mini's that 'work for a while, then don't work until they're rebooted' in a home multiswitch environment is IGMP. Several manufactures ship with a broken IGMP config (netgear semi-smart switches being the most common biggest offender), on by default, that breaks Mini's after a while.
Thank you. While I knew the WAN address shouldn’t matter, I didn’t know if they had something baked in for licensing to say if the Mini doesn’t report the same WAN address as the host then kill it. Never thought of IGMP but that’d make sense with streaming devices. I have a cheap 24 port TpLink switch in the mix. I’ll move all the TiVos either on it or off of it for testing purposes. Thanks again.
