my network is:
linksys wrt54g v6 router with ddwrt, wireless n adapter on premiere in bedroom. wired 35 ft ethernet cable on premiere in living room. My sd transfers seem to be stupid fast, completing before first commercial or so. hd it rebuffers before i even get to a commercial. i look at my bandwidth monitor in my ddwrt and it usually sticks around 9 Mbps in, 350 Kbps out on my wireless. is there any suggestions to help my transfers go faster? would a wireless n router make a big enough difference to warrant the cost (if im upgrading routers, im getting network storage and gigabit ethernet)? Or should i just hardwire the bedroom premiere? What speeds do you all see when transferring hd from premiere to premiere?

Wired is always best. But you could try powerline adapters.
Try wireless N. I can get identical transfer speeds as wired(75mb/s to 90Mb/s) when I use a wireless N bridge with a Premiere.(2.4Ghz or 5Ghz)
I used to use G adapters on both Tivos and it worked just fine. Then one day my speeds slowed to a crawl for now reason. I think it may have been a Tivo software update.

I just switched to MoCa adapters and couldn't be happier. Everything runs smoothly and is super fast. You would be better off investing your money in that than a N router.
moca adapters would be nice, but i also have other devices that would benefit from a n router. So the transfer speeds being slow on hd are related to network, and its not just how the tivo is? If its network, i will upgrade my router and/or hardwire my bedroom tivo, but if its just the way tivo transfers then i guess ill just deal with it. BTW, from base premiere to base premiere, how long does it normally take all of you to transfer a 1 hour hd show?
Around ten minutes to transfer an hour long HD show. Although It could be a little slower or a little quicker depending on the file size for the hour long HD show.
When I had G adapters and an N router, it took a 2-3 hours for a one hour show. I could the same size from Amazon in 12-15 minutes. It never made a lot of sense to me. Netflix streaming was also flawless for the most part with G adapters and I got full HD.

With MoCa adapters, it takes about 12-15 minutes for a one hour show.
