PyTivoDesktop works for me downloading from Tivo on Hydra

But still does not work on the EDGE, and there has not been any update on its other problems. (see EDGE issues thread for details)
OP says nothing about Edge

ALL the indications that I see say very clearly that Bad_Rovi has absolutely NO intention of ever giving us this capability back. Consider these two things:
When TE4 came out, it could still SEE older models to show what was on the Now Playing list, but it could not actually copy anything from them. After a year or so, they deliberately removed the ability to even SEE those older models that do not support in-home streaming.
Although the Bolt still has a "transfer" light on the front panel (that works in TE3), when they designed the Edge, they chose to completely REMOVE this indicator. To me, that was a very clear statement that they intend to never allow this function again.

At this point they have gone out of their way to make sure even if they changed their minds, they couldn't add this back to TE4. You have three options. TE3, hope for TE5, abandon all hope, ye who enter here. AKA abandon Tivo. Might as well, TiVo did.
I continue unsuccessfully to try to wean the family away from Tivo, telling them the writing is on the wall. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do when TE4 is forced. I'm too old to start dating again.
