She saw Eliot's body. Eliot and Mr Robot argued over who was in control at the time, and realized neither was. There's a third personality in there that we (and they) didn't know about.The ending of the second episode has me puzzled. I did remember Darleen breaking into a house and killing the woman who wasn't supposed to be there (considering that episode was over 2 years ago, it's surprising I remember), but who did she say she saw in front of Eliot's apartment? Then Eliot and Mr. Robot were arguing over who told her. Told her what? I need someone with a better memory.
Darleen saw Vera in front of Elliot's apartment. That happened in the post-credits scene in last season's finale. Vera is the drug dealer who kidnapped and killed Shayla (Eliott's neighbor and girlfriend) in season 1.She saw Eliot's body. I've forgotten sooooo muuuuch from last season, but this show is so riveting it doesn't seem to hamper my enjoyment of it.
Do I remember correctly that Elliot can't account for a few days after 5/9? I'm thinking this apparent 3rd personality is going to account for that.

We (you?) know this, or think this? Because I thought that when we first saw them, but then he asks her if they're waiting for Elliot or Mr. Robot.

But it's definitely them. We've seen them before.
I’m going to have to find the very first episode but I’m pretty sure the opening scene had Elliot in that boardroom and called over by that woman (aka mom) because “he’s here”.
