Season premier tonight! The title doesn't look quite right for a Mr. Robot episode, but that's what IMDB and Wikipedia have.

The tile looks right to me...
"The 401 Unauthorized error is an HTTP status code that means the page you were trying to access cannot be loaded until you first log in with a valid user ID and password."
Fits right in with the series.

It doesn't fit the pattern of all the other episode titles, though, which took the form of a file name that began with "eps" and the season/episode number.
I liked the desc of the ep that TiVo provided....my 11 yo daughter saw it and said "What does 'AF' mean?"
I wonder how many people were faked out by the first end credit screen, and stopped the show. There was more after.

Although 401 is the season/episode number and refers to a possible file.

Even if you didn't stay to catch that last bit, you'd have to know that wasn't the end for him.
I was a little surprised that they killed Portia Doubleday before the opening credits (in which she is still #3!)...

I wonder if the 400 HTTP status codes are spoilers for this season... :D The last two or three are absolutely perfect.

Yeah I have to admit, my jaw dropped on that one too. Nice to be surprised by TV sometimes but sucks she went out like that.
I thought it was really cool how the "Previously on Mr Robot" segment segued right into the scene with Angela. Took me a moment to realize that I wasn't seeing old footage.

Also, I was utterly giddy at Sam Esmail playing a hitman, killing his title character in the season premiere. I was thinking that we had just seen how the series was ending, and the next 9 episodes would be everything that happened from October - Christmas. And then the credits stopped and I learned what really happened.

ME!!!
I paused and came to read the thread and saw this and went back. I was faked out because it said stick around for scenes for the upcoming season and I hate previews!

It took me a bit to get back into it, mostly because I was remembering the show.
But it is so good and so well done.

The first killing done far off in the distance...

The dinner guest who suddenly turned into one of them...

The NO EXIT book and Jean Garcia being a set up...

Has Emmy Rossum joined the show? - I coulda sworn that was her in the middle of the Christmas carolers...

Was that the person who injected the heroin? I have no idea what Sam looks like.
Edit: Nevermind I just saw him in the preview... (which what was that fake out into a promo for Gemini Man - arghhhhh.)
See less See more
P.S. Since when can you say the F-word and the C-word on USA?
Kinda caught me off guard.

Just an uncredited cameo, I think...
Good to have the show back after so long. Since when did this show become commercial free? Or is it just this episode.

Whaaaat?! I did not realize that. I thought it was just an extra that looked familiar.
Emmy Rossum and Sam Esmail are married...

well I did not know that either, so it would make perfect sense...
i think im going to have to let this season pile up and binge the entire series. I must have been distracted-watching last season cause I don't remember much of it

It could just be that each season seems more convoluted and Byzantine than the last. I thought the first was sheer brilliance, and it's been slipping ever since.

I mean, it still has brilliant moments that make it worthwhile. But that first season was pure genius, the way everything came together. And more and more, it seems they're being weird and complicated for the sake of being weird and complicated, not in the service of a larger plan.
