Hello, Not sure if this is the proper place for this but here goes.
I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else.
I decided to move my Tivo box and cable box and TV to another room.
Setup exactly as before, turn on unit and it comes up with Welcome Powering up page.
After 15 to 30 seconds, the unit displaces a white page and does nothing else.
I called Tech support and am told I can either send the unit in for replacement.
But it will cost me $149.00 or I can got to the Tivo site and just buy another box.
So either way I figure my box was not usable.
So being a technology support personal in my day job, I decided to open my box and check the hard drive with some special tools.
It turns out the drive has been wiped and not by me.
So I have to question.
How easy would it be to send a command to my box to have this action carried out with the obvious benificial outcome?
