More recording options -> There are none!

I don't know when this started, but it's been at least a few weeks:

Sometimes when I select a program in the To Do List/History, and choose "more recording options", the options screen doesn't contain any options other than "press SELECT to go back". Why is this? Usually there are options to "record this episode", "get a season pass", "view upcoming episodes", and "don't do anything", but for some programs all I get is "press SELECT to go back".

I don't know if it's related, but a couple times lately I have tried to set up a recording, and the Tivo told me that there was a conflict with another "box" channel, and it can only record one box channel at a time, etc. But the recording I was trying to set up was NOT on a box channel, and the recording that Tivo claimed a conflict with was also not on a box channel.
