I made a separate thread for the series finale. I thought it was well done and a natural progression of where the characters were headed. Each taking a logical step in their lives.

I wonder if any of these characters will be spun off? I think Mitch and Cam in MO. could be interesting, but maybe too cliche?

I thought it was very well handled. I love that Haley and Dillon ended up in Mitch & Cam's old place, and that Phil and Claire went from overcrowding to empty nest in one day. Jay learning Spanish, Mitch and Claire recreating their figure skating routine... so many great bits that added up to a satisfying finale.

All of the above!
I liked Mitch and Claire doing the claw thing to get the trophy, Joe's haircut, and I think Jay learning Spanish was the best.

That was nice, but how exactly are they able to afford that home?
And I find it hard to believe that Mitch and Cam, having just moved into a new place (I think they bought it?) wouldn't even consider the ramifications of having to sell their house or whatever.

I think things wrapped up a little too easily.

And why did Jay take so long to bother to learn Spanish?

I was never a big fan of the show and especially Mitch and Cam (well, maybe not Cam), but I started watching because I enjoyed "Married … with Children" so much and Al was now this old man with a hot wife.

I've always felt sorry for Julie Bowen. She's gorgeous, but next to Sofia Vergara ...

Jay and Phil both remind me of me, but for different reasons.

I was wondering how Mitch and Cam could just leave a house they just bought, and I missed seeing just how Dillon and Haley found a new place.

Mitch's new job should be able to compensate them for that.
Mitch doesn't have a job yet. Maybe Cam gets paid a lot as a college coach.
It's really a minor issue. I'm sure in the real world those details are worked out. Just didn't have enough time to discuss in the episode.

Also, there is "Bless This Mess" which has been compared to the above show.
The difference between Green Acres and Bless This Mess, and a Mitch and Cam moves to MO show is that Mitch and Cam are Gay, in a rural conservative area of the US. So they dynamic is a bit different.

I thought it was a well done finale. The one hour "A Modern Farewell" before was also fun to watch. Seeing those kids from eleven years ago, and then today, I really felt like I watched them grow up (never missed an episode, so I guess I did). I can't imagine the emotions the actors were going thru, after working together for over a decade.

This was truly a groundbreaking show (a term oft overused). Won the Emmy for Best Comedy five years straight. Look back at some of the old TCF threads, we had threads for every episode. Some were 4-5 pages long.

"How about a quiche?"

The documentary about the mockumentary was great. I had forgotten those kids were ever so young. Lily seems way older than she should be.

Since I didn't enjoy it that much, I have many more episodes still to watch, many on my various machines.
