WE have a Sony SAT-T60, and are getting a message that the modem is not responding so we can't get program schedule updates. Is there a way to fix a broken modem or a work-around we can use other than buying a new Tivo?

That would be great news if we don't need the modem, but why do we keep getting messages saying that Tivo needs the phone line and hasn't been able to call in whatever number of days. If the modem only does PPV why doesn't the message only say we can't use PPV if the phone connection isn't made.
