I have got 2 semi-quick questions for people.
One, I am not sure if this started with the Fall 2007 Update or not, but one of my Tivo's seems to have lost its Name under the basic tivo/account info that is ON the Tivo itself. I still have it showing up online in my account, though I think it has changed in my Amazon Unbox account area as well (back to the last 4 digits of the service #). I went and changed it through my tivo online account, and I did a manual connection to try and get it to hopefully "see" the new name, but it doesn't. This is for my Series 3 (300 hr). My other 2 Tivo's do not have this problem at all (a Series 2 Humax 80 hr (DRRT800) DVD player/burner and a Series 2 DT 180hr unit).
Does anyone know if this is just another bug caused by 9.1 (which I have on all 3 Tivo's currently), or not?
My 2nd question was, does anyone know a list of the different Tivo's matching Model # to the first 3 of the Service #??? I have 2 Harmony remotes now, and I had noticed that with the S2 DT 180, if I use it's model numer (from what I guessed as being TCD649180) then it thinks it is a dual tuner series 2 with DVD player or burner or something. I have a Humax that is like this, but when the Remote thinks it has a DVD function of some kind, it tries to add extra buttons and stuff that is not needed for my basic DT device. I have been using the "TCD540180" which I think is the regular Series 2 180 hrs model code, but would like to have the real code (if it works) if at all possible.
I have done some extensive searching through the Tivo and Tivo community sites for a listing of these Model #'s with corresponding Service Code #'s and Names (eg. TCD-540180 - 540 ############ - Tivo Series 2 180 Hour) and have found nothing. I thought I would find it here first, but maybe I should just have tried searching with Google instead...
If anyone has a list, or if several people with different model #'s could help build a list, I think this could be handy to have (why this isn't already done with a sticky in the FAQs or something makes me wonder). Maybe I'll check out Wikipedia and see if they have something already, and maybe just get a link going to that from the FAQs section???
Thanks.
