Nice. I love Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. It looks like both of those will be using the English track, instead of the original Japanese with subtitles, but the voice talent for the English track was very good so as to not be a liability.
I am hoping that they choose to use the Subtitles for at least one of each showing. But americans dont appreciate that kind of thing usually. But many of these I don't have on disc yet and can get good copies to add to my collection, cant complain about free.

:)
What, no "Kiki's Delivery Service"?

I think "Spirited Away" will be the newest movie ever shown on TCM.
trainman - its a huge leap forwards for TV to show that many Ghibli films all at once. Don't jinx it for us asking for something else! ;)

I'd like to see Kiki again too to record for my collection. I already have Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoru, on DVD. And plan on getting Spirited Away finally (had it but it was borrowed).

The rest will be nice to fill my collection out with.
Highly recommended for anime and non-anime fans alike... all the stories are great some being more mature then others.

One of my favorite studios!!
And they are especially great when presented in the original Klingon.

Some of the finest animation and stories out there for sure, dirtypacman fo sho

but, you can set up a auto-record wishlist. I doubt "Totoro" is gonna come up anywhere else in the next 2.5 months.

lol ... i just set up a reminder for myself to tivo these sometime before the air-date.

i already own most of these on dvd, but i'd like to see totoro again (only saw it once ... on vhs). i'm sure i'll buy the dvd whenever it comes out anyway. :D

Mononoke was ok, I'm looking forward to seeing spirited away!!!
I actually enjoyed "Spirited Away" more the second time I saw it than the first. It made more sense twice-around. Very 'trippy' movie... and well done too. :D
If you really want all the movies on DVD, look at this set on eBay. We love having a complete collection and we can watch in Japanese (or English when friends come over).

I read through some of the feedback where people complained about bootlegs. The seller says they are legit. It seems a little fishy especially because they are so cheap. But we really wanted the movies for the kids, so we bought it.
I have the originals and compared them to a bootleg and there is no real noticable difference.... to save the money the bootleg is fine.

Since I was such a big fan I did get the original.
We need someone to resurrect this thread in late december to remind us to setup the programming on our TiVo's... I loved 'Princess Mononoke', Spirited Away. Spirited Away was so dramatically different than any other movie I had seen.

I assume my family will like the others as well.

Be careful about the Chinese bootlegs of these movies. They have "Engrish" subtitles. That is the translation in not the most goodly to understands. ;)
