I have an HD tivo box and was wondering if I can just subscribe to TC minus the locals and still record my OTA locals?
So minumum cost would be TC-locals and tivo fee ($44?)

Yes you can get TC without locals and still record your digital OTA locals. I dropped my locals the day I installed my hr10-250.

Yeah I'm thinking about doing that except that I have another SD PVR that needs the locals from the sat to work - I don't think that the Samsung Tivo units have the ability to mix OTA and Sat on the guide, and record, or do they?

NONE of the SD D-Tivo's can do OTA & never have...
