Hi all: my Bolt + had a hard drive failure. I was able to get TiVo to replace it at no cost (woot!). However, they replaced it with a Bolt Vox. I got it fired up last night, no issues. However, I do see I get to learn about the new interface.

Now this morning I went to use our Mini.... it won't pair to the Vox! It can seee it, but it's greed out, and not selectable.

From what I've been able to read, the mini needs to be upgraded to Hydra as well. The only reference I've been able to find about that is to get it paired, upgrade the host, and it will recognize that, and then look for the upgrade fir itself. Since it's never been paired with the Vox, I could use some help in figuring out out to force the update....

Help!

It should prompt to upgrade once it's connected.

Have you made several connections to the TiVo Service?

Have you rebooted the TiVo?

Have you verified they both have the same MAK, and are listed in your Account?

There's recently been reporting around here about rebooting the modem being the final step needed to 'allow' the connection.

If the host is grayed out, it's a network/software/service issue. I have a VOX and three hosts, of which only 1 is TE4. The TE3 hosts are not grayed out. A powered off Roamio & two-tuner Premiere are grayed out.

Ok, still no success. Multiple connections, forced restarts etc. I did find that I hadn't activated video sharing via my account, but the resets were after I made that correction.

The old Bolt is no longer showing up in my account, but still shows us a greyed out for the mini. The new bolt vox is there too, but has some kind of eyeball symbol just to the left.

I'd really rather not have to,downgrade the bolt vox, but I'm a bit flummoxed about how to get things working...

It's not a Mini Vox.... prior gen mini. Looks like I'm going through have to reset the Bolt Vox os to get the mini to connect. Bummer.
Your first post is confusing. A Mini should match its host or tell you to change the host or the Mini. What software is the host using? What software is the Mini using? BTW, you don't control the Mini software directly.

I appreciate the input.

I had a BOLT + Paired with a Mini. NEITHER was a Vox. Both were running the older software.

Hard drive on the Bolt + failed. Tivo sent me a Bolt VOX as a replacement.

The Bolt Vox came with the new software (Hydra? V4?).

The mini knows there is a Bolt Vox on the network, but it is greyed out, and has a circle with a line through it symbol next to the entry.

Both devices are showing up in my account, and I've turned on video sharing on for the Vox. Is there no way to get them to work together without downgrading the Vox?

Your problem is not related to the software running on the boxes. There is an account issue which maybe solved by making multiple service connections on both the Bolt and Mini. Video Sharing is not an issue for your problem. The two units need to know they are "related". I have a 2-tuner Premiere on my network which shows as a TiVo, grayed out with a circle that you saw. That's because that TiVo does not support any Mini. You might perform a C&DE on the Mini. It doesn't hurt the host.

You may have to call TiVo - sorry.
