I am trying to boot to my cdrom to switch my sat t60 to a new drive, but with the tivo drive "a" in place as per the instructions, the computer locks up during the bios check. I stops at the drive size. It is a Maxtor 120G. I am using MFS Tools.
Absolutely, tried all kinds of configs. The bios detects all the drives and their' places on the IDEs, but when it attempts to detect the drive size on ANY 'tivo' drive, it hangs on the drive size.
the drives are 120g maxtors that I used MFS tools to upgrade to about 4 years ago.
I had taken the 40g stock drive out and upgraded to 2 120g and it has worked wonderfully for 4 or 5 years.
Now that it is starting to stutter, I wanted to put it back to a 40g and let it ride and see if a new drive fixes the problem, and if not, at least when I call D* and switch it out, I dont give them back my 2 120gs.
I'm at a loss.
