MFS Live Copy Issue

846 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  unitron
I have an HDVR2 and the HD is failing. I tried to use MFS live to copy the drive to another HD. According to the MFS program the copy went fine. The 2nd drive was tested before and is good. When I put the new drive in the unit it gets stuck on the "Welcome Powerin Up" screen. Am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same issue with my Upgrade due to a Western Digital green drive. Those Green drives have an boot issue due to the Intellipark feature on those drives. If you're using a Western Digital Green drive you may need to run WDIELE3 /d to disable the Intellipark feature. I had to for my upgrade.

See section 29 in the link for instructions:

From the OP's description, I assumed that the problem occurred when he powered it up after installing the new drive, so Intellipark wasn't the cause.

finnwake, post a complete description of what you did, including full information on both drives and all of the steps you took.

I have to say though that this thread probably belongs in the TiVo Upgrade Center forum.

Did you use backup | restore?

Or did you use dd_rescue?
