Just curious if anyone knows what this new update will bring - email message from Mediacom only explains potential issues:

WHAT TO EXPECT FOLLOWING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE:

Following the reboot, your programming information and recorded shows may be temporarily unavailable for one to three hours while saved data is migrated to the new TiVo software. You will also not be able to search, browse or create new OnePass recordings. Please disregard any error messages that may appear on your TiVo box while the update takes place. Examples of error messages that should be disregarded are M60: Run out of Data; S01, S02 or S03; or prompts to connect to TiVo Service.

While Mediacom does not expect any significant problems to arise from the TiVo update, there is a potential that some subscribers may experience temporary issues. Most of these issues will resolve on their own without requiring additional troubleshooting. If you continue to experience problems after 12 pm (Noon), please refer to the list below for assistance.

Basically, TiVo is switching the back-end service with whom they contract for our TV programming data, from Gracenote (formerly Tribune Media Services) to Rovi (TiVo's new owner).

The following thread was started by TiVo, to facilitate problem resolution.
TiVo is upgrading the guide data associated with all the shows and movies on our DVRs so that we can provide more accurate program information to our subscribers. This upgrade should take only a few hours, and will mostly happen during the late night or early morning to minimize the impact to our customers. TiVo does not expect many users to have any issues but it is possible that you may not have full functionality during this time. You will be able to play recordings, watch live TV, and use streaming applications (e.g., Netflix, Hulu). When the changes are complete, you will get back the full TiVo experience you've come to expect!

If you have any feedback or need any assistance please reply to this thread and we will respond as quickly as possible. We also recommend visiting our support article that may answer your questions by clicking here https://support.tivo.com/SupportPor.../Essential_Summary/Program-Guide-Data-Updates.

I would hope that Mediacom has fewer channel lineup issues than other cable providers since they provide TiVo to their customers. Other issues though I expect would be the same.
