A local channel used to show a couple of the 1/2 hour Marshall Dillion's in afternoon, a month ago they quit now ME has. Figured it had to be a rights thing when it was off ME went to their site saw this. Attention Me-TV viewers, because of an exclusive pay cable window, both Rawhide and Marshal Dillon will be leaving the Me-TV schedule on November 28. We are sorry to see them go and hope to add them back to the schedule in a couple of years. What exactly is a pay cable window and why just 2 years?

It's probably a clearance window that they are contractually bound to. They can air the shows, but only between certain dates. So perhaps they've given exclusive rights to air the shows to some pay cable channel, and they aren't going to be available to MeTV during that time (or any other channel).
I am OTA only and ME TV just showed up in my channel line-up about 3 weeks ago

A lot different than Nickelodeon as far as the line-up goes, but I watch it all the time now

With shows like Rockford, Star Trek, Newhart, Dick Van **** and many others, it has become one of my favorite channels
Since getting it (ME) is mostly what I watch, it and Antenna TV which replaced RTV recently as a local sub. I hope they stay like they are and don't go the TV Land route. Would be good if one of them started showing The Flinstones haven't seen it in years.
I wish we had MeTV available. When I had Chicago locals, we DVR'ed a lot of stuff on MeTV.
Hopefully they will be near you soon, seem to be doing very well spreading rapidly.
Never heard of MeTV. But to answer the OP's question, shows are sold into syndication for a specific period of time. When that period is up, someone else can purchase the syndication rights. It appears that whatever rights MeTV had expired, and another media outlet purchased those rights for the next period. It could be Netflix, it could be another cable channel, it could be one of any number of outlets.

I wish the local station that carries RTV would switch to Antenna TV. RTV used to be fairly decent but now the selection of shows on it sucks.

But we do have ME TV on another channel and I really enjoy watching it. I think these nostalgia networks are a great side effect of the switch to digital TV.

Here after repeating a weeks worth of shows for a year or more, was a good line up but just kept repeating same episodes. Finally changed line up to a bunch of 90's Canadian shows that weren't very good, only few weeks later was replaced by Antenna TV. The only things I miss from them is Wolfman Mac and Off Beat Cinema but looked like they quit making new Wolfman's anyway.

It's Starz/Encore that got the exclusive rights to "Rawhide" and "Gunsmoke"/"Marshall Dillon" -- they're going to be on, as you might expect, the Encore Westerns channel.

I figured that's where Dillion would end up, is there a date set
Both Me TV (1 and 2) and Antenna TV are from Chicago...and I could get them OTA if I was closer or had my antenna tower.

Want me to run a long coax out to ya?

January 1st, from what I can tell.

Thanks, looks like I will be dumping my last movie channel for what they call movie pass package, has the Encores, Flix's, Fox, Hallmark and others for $7. Cheaper than the $13 for the other, had been thinking of it anyway because it looks like Encore already shows the hour long ones with Chester.
2 half hour followed by 1 hour long black and white episode weekdays at 6PM on Encore, kicked off with a marathon Jan second.
Now Retro is back on different channel, so now have Antenna, Me, This, and Retro. Are there any other OTA subs that have old TV shows?

For completion's sake:

Bounce is a mostly-movies-based African-American interest channel; it offers Judge Hatchett, Fat Albert and Soul Train.
Looks like it has potential, don't know why TV westerns is not option in their poll. http://www.tufftv.com/
I've been watching old Mission Impossible eps on MeTV. One of my favorite shows when I was a kid, hadn't seen them in years. Pretty cool.
