Cuban came out looking like a real A-hole (is that his rep?) for trying to prevent the other sharks from competing for a deal.

The other sharks did'nt like it much

Yeah, Cuban didn't help himself much this episode. When you come off as worse than Kevin, then you know you've got issues!
He used that same tactic previously. "Give me your best offer and I'll decide". I think it worked last time. He did give the firefighter a pretty sweet deal though.
He mentioned on the Mike & Mike radio show that he got screwed on a Shark deal. Wonder if this was the one. 1.25 Mil + royalties is alot for the garden hose connect which doesn't seem all that better compared to whats out there.

Cuban can be an a-hole when he wants something but overall I'd rather deal with him than the other sharks. Kevin' lowball offers for 51 percent of the company style irks me much more than Cuban's business tactics.
I didn't think what Cuban did was all that horrible. It's called a Shark Tank, not a guppy tank.
I love when Cuban is on there. He throws more money out there and seems to really get excited. Some of the others have gotten pretty bland in their negotiations.
I'm a couple episodes behind but LOVED the idea of that caddyswag $19.99 (for two) golf cooler and plan on tyring to buy some. I am certainly part of the population that sneaks beer onto courses in a garbage bag with ice. I'm surprised that the infomercial guy didn't jump on it.
I would buy the broom with the built-in scraper.

That was a tough decision for that guy. If you want instant (but less) money, then licensing was the way to go. If you want the big bucks then the infomercial and then licensing was the way to go. Personally, I think he made the right decision.

Is there a podcast of it?

(Again: I LOVE shark tank. I love the unabashed greed.)

*Especially* for home use, I wonder if it leaks. (Similar to push on vs twist on coax connectors. Push on is a great idea, but they NEVER work as well as proper twist on ones.) For actual fire department use, if it saves lives/property, and spills a little bit of water, that's a valid tradeoff.
Looking at the design (yes I paused it and looked) it looks like it has threads just like a real hose and when you twist the connector it compresses the threads around the spigot. I guess the key point would be the oring and well it seats.
Cuban seemed dumb to buy that. There's products like that now with 'quick connect' hose connectors. They work OK at best. I've tried a few. You put an adapter on each end and you can change them out easily. They definitely leak though, and were somewhat of a pain. Perhaps his is better.
btw. I totally agreed with the Sharks about that lady's wedding runner business. She even says herself that she's the "Vera Wang" of wedding runners.....so why would you want to dilute your brand for a $49.99 runner and make little profit when you can continue selling the $800+ ones and make $500 on each one?
That wedding runner lady talked way too fast. It was hard to understand her sometimes and she was very defensive. I wouldn't have wanted to work a business deal with her either.

And the man candle guy would only have had interest if he had been able to patent the smells and license those smells out to big-time candle companies.
I've been to more than a few weddings in my life and I have never seen anyone use a personalized aisle runner.
I liked the line: "Do you have anything else in your pockets" after he pulled out that hose adapter.

Do you attend 200K + weddings? Because who else buys a custom runner???

I don't see anyone buying those things and decorating them themselves. It's just a piece of white fabric after all. The value was in her design and decoration skill. Not the idea...

Edit: If she wanted to go cheaper, she should sell some standard designs, like monogrammed ones, that were cheaper, but did not compete with her high-end custom business. And then she wouldn't be at the $49.95 price mark.

I totally agree. It looked like it came with a thing of paint and you'd have to hand stencil in your design. Who wants to do that and how good is that really going to look.

And I totally agree with your standard design idea. Then she could sell them for $199 retail at a low cost to her. But to sell this for $49.99 made no sense.
btw....Jeff Foxworthy brings nothing to this show. I feel sorry for the guy who partnered with him with the football drinking thing. Other than money, what is Jeff going to bring to the deal? Sell it at all his "*******" shows?

I just saw some $10 Vera Wang sweatpants as Kohl's the other day. ;) So she seems to know you can hit multiple markets to maximize your profits.
