Hey, I recently replaced the HD in my 4 year old Roamio. I installed the WD30EFRXSP which was recommended online. Did the fan last year, replacement from weaknees. New drive runs great does everything but there is a low level hum that is always there. I understand that tivo never turns off. Is there a Solid State Drive option?
Thanks

The hard drive must run all the time if you want TiVo to be able to record shows. I find much of the hum is caused by the surface the TiVo sits on. Bits of sponge rubber (like foam carpet backing) under the feet may help.
