I have lost my locals on 1 of 6 directv tivo. I am in an area that uses 72.5 sat. I did quick check of signal strength show the signal is fine. I do receive guide info for my locals and I receive program on my local channels it is just that the programming is not right.

This only happens on 1 of 6 tivo's. It used to be that a reboot would fix the problem however a reboot will not fix the problem now . I switched around tivo's and the problem follows the tivo so it is the tivo and not the location.

Has any come across this and know of a fix or is the tivo history?

Thanks

Rick

Try calling the directv customer service line (1-800-DIRECTV) (from the phone listed on your account) and when the automated system asks about the reason you are calling, say "error 7-2-1". This will send a request to re-bind the cards to all of your units and may clear up the issue on this one. This worked when I had to replace the hard drive on one of my directivo units and also on one of my friends directivo units when he had to reload the OS on the drive in his device.

Note: I do not (nor does he) live in an area that receives the locals from the 72.5 sat. Your mileage may vary, but it is worth a shot.

As per instruction from DirecTV I reset everything on both my receivers for the rebooting problem....knowing that it wouldn't fix it.... Anyhow, getting back to the subject.

The Phillips unit did ok when getting the channels, but the Samsung lost all local channels. Called them and they had me go through setup again and nothing. Finally after trying a few more things, I ended up getting disconnected.....at least I hope it was a disconnection. So, I unplugged the unit for about a minute and plugged it back in and then removed the card and put it back in and when it came back up....my locals were all back!

Tried all your suggestions and still get locals back on this tivo. I do have programming just the wrong channels. According to dtv techs this happens alot and there is not fix just replacement.

Being that mine are hacked I think I can just pull that drive (bigger than my extra tivo) put it in a non rid tivo I have extra...run killer51 put the active card in and then go to dtv's website and refresh that tivo and should work right then.

Had a similar thing happen awhile back, and it was the Multiswitch going out. No matter where you move the one unit to, the problem would follow it and not effect any other unit.

Seems that some units are more prone to a multiswitch going bad. While others it is not as noticable.

After changing out Multswitch, never had the problem again :D
