Lost the external drive, how long should it take Tivo to reformat the internal 320 GB drive?

Planning on replacing the internal drive with a 2TB drive...

2TB is the way to go. PRe-formatted is a cinch. Plug-and-play. Literally.
Prices on drives are declining again .. but if you can't wait.

These guys are reliable and fast on shipping. I bought several of these from them. No problems.

Too expensive. I can buy a 2 TB drive for $110 and do the work myself.

You also lose your cablecard pairing info. I would much rather doing it myself for cheaper and not lose my cablecard paring.

True dat.

Good point. My 2TB drives were set up before the cable card install and the price was about even with non-formated drives at that time .. . But I"ve done it both ways. It's really not hard for those technically adapt (but daunting for those who are not) and will preserve your cable card info ... Remember, opening the TIVO case is daunting enough for many people.....Here's a helpful website ...
