Lost audio, then lost all recordings

When I went to view recordings of the 846, there was no audio. The A/V amp (that does the switching confirmed the lack of audio from the TiVo. Tuner audio off the TV was fine.
Shorten version;
I decided to use the 'Restart the TiVo', but I lost the video during the re-boot process, no 'almost there message'. Going into DefCon 1 mode, I pull the power cable, waited, then powered back up, still with no A/V so I checked connections (I use a HDMI splitter) disconnected that and plugged back in and video returned, so did audio.
I went into Recordings and all of them were gone, even the ones listed in the deleted tab.
I checked the One Pass list and all the scheduled programs were still there, nothing erased.
No error lights on the front panel, the power light was lit all the time. It was close to the hour with 3 programs scheduled to record. None of them started. I had to manually 'record' them in spite of still being in the list.

I checked the System info and all looked ok. Up to date Guide data, correct time, correct Lifetime entries etc.

Questions;
Regarding that last deal, was it because it was so close to start record time the system didn't recognize to record those programs?
The loss of recordings, could that be because of the 'double' restart (for lack of a better term), interrupting the initial restart process by pulling the power?

The issue seem to be your splitter and is resolved.

No, the splitter is not the reason for the show loss.
How old is the drive?
Are you using an external with the internal? (not recommended)

Surely not "old", maybe a couple of years. No other drive, never did, never will. No issues up to now.
And why aren't the One Pass recordings recording? I looked in the 'History' and a number of 'one-timers' showed "deleted" when they never recorded in the 1st place. Then it showed not enough space/room to record when there were only 2 programs in the list and 0% used.

AFA as a 'handshake' issue, why did the video pass and the audio didn't??

The issue was a corrupted "To Do" list. I cleared it and all appears to be back recording One Pass entries..
But that doesn't answer why I lost all recordings. :mad:

AFA the lost audio, it can't be a 'handshake' issue since the video was there. To get it back, I had to disconnect the cable going to the splitter and connect it from the amp directly to the TiVo. Audio returns, so I re-connected it back to the splitter and the audio was still there.
