Lost 1 hd in a 2 drive system

I just bought a Directv HD tivo from ebay. I pulled out the 250gb hard drive and changed it to a dual drive (500 & 400). I added the twin breeze mount but I must have screwed something up because one drive smoked and won't work anymore. I obviously shorted out the hard drive.

I tried plugging the Tivo in with the one working drive but that won't start up, as I thought it wouldn't. I was kinda hoping that I would get a GSOD so that it might 'rebuild' itself as a one drive system but it keeps rebooting. Is it possible to do a MFSRestore on the one drive to add a seond drive? I don't care about the recordings but I would rather not have to go thru the hassle of having my locals added again.

Any advice would be great.

If you fried your "B" drive, you can use mfssplit from MFSLive Beta cd or WinMFS to divorce your "B" drive. If your "A" drive is fried, then you have to start fresh.

Thanks for your reply. I can't get onto MFSLive Beta CD. I am awaiting authorization. I would like to keep the recordings I can.

But, one I divorce them, once I replace the bad 'b' drive. Can I add it back?

Once divorced, make sure it work in Tivo then you can add new "B" using mfsadd.
