Hi,

I'm looking to buy a Lifetime subscribed TiVo for OTA use. I would like to pay around $150 if a Roamio and $250 if a Bolt (I don't care if it's OTA only or Cable and OTA)

My current situation is this. I dropped Satellite 3 years ago and found my way back to TiVo. The Bolt OTA wasn't out yet so I have a Bolt for Cable and OTA. I moved to streaming and OTA for my watching needs. Unsure if that was going to satisfy me, I went annual. I renewed my annual in 2018 and 2019. It's up again and of course TiVo is understandably unwilling to move on their All In costs so my choices are to buy a used Lifetime or go without TiVo.

I use YouTubeTV, so I have my locals and their unlimited cloud DVR which is workable, but I do of course prefer TiVo for the OTA and also like the redundancy of having the locals both OTA and via YTTV.

In any case, if there is someone about to list that is willing to transact in the above range and save the Ebay fees and hassles, shoot me a message.

I'm quite surprised that TiVo won't work with you if you're happy with the model you have now. I don't have any product that would help you. Was your purchase new from TiVo? You've how long to expiration?

Well they offer the lifetime upfront, I didn't take it so I understand why they don't want to deal now. That's how they protect the value of buying it upfront. Sadly on the back side where I am, it makes more sense for me to invest in another person's cast off than give the money to TiVo.

I bought it on Amazon. I expire second week of August.

Have you asked for a 'Reduced Fee Lifetime' It's not unusual for them to 'OFFER' something. I believe there are comments regularly regarding 'CSR roulette' for a better offer than their 1st BUT I'd be certainly asking!!! You've a couple weeks for maybe 2 or 3 requests!

Offers I understand vary greatly !!!

Thanks for the advice.

I have asked for reduced lifetime. I've justified the ask by saying I only use OTA, they can see that, and OTA lifetime is only 250. I've also tried the angle of why would they want me to give 250 to another user instead of giving it to them.

I've tried them twice in the last couple weeks and I'll probably try at least 2 more before the end and if I don't buy a used one, again a month or so after cancellation.

One way or another the market seems to indicate my price point is achievable if not through TIvo, then through another who purchased it but has no remaining utility.

Thanks everyone. I ended up with a Roamio from Ebay with lifetime. Close to my target $162.50 ($186 after shipping and tax). It should take care of my needs.

I appreciate those who reached out with offers and advice.
