If you let me know what numbers I will call them for you.

The numbers are in this thread where any feedback can also be noted. What I really need is a copy of a /var/log/tclient from a call, especially if that call fails. Obviously one needs the rather obscure combination of a networked tivo, to obtain the log file, which still connects via the modem for it's calls..If you let me know what numbers I will call them for you.

I tried the 01 and 03 numbers last night . Both failed to answer. The numbers are in this thread where any feedback can also be noted. This is the issue I am trying to solve; the one tclient log I've had so far has been helpful; it seems we ARE answering, but the failure is before it even tries to authenticate. If I can get another TiVo, or sort out the config on mine along with the hardware issues that caused me to retire it in the first place, we might get to the bottom of the issues.I tried the 01 and 03 numbers last night . My Tivos are bog standard.
Sorry I can't be more help. This is the issue I am trying to solve; the one tclient log I've had so far has been helpful; it seems we ARE answering, but the failure is before it even tries to authenticate. well done dude - and no i'm keeping my boxThanks to spitfires' input, we've got the dial-up working now. This means that we will be able to support completely unmodified TiVos on the new EPG ! Still need to improve access speed on the secondary numbers, but that's a comparatively minor issue
However, I'm still looking for a replacement box - both mine have hardware problems and the one I was trying to do the testing with has now died, after spending half a day tracking down how to re-enable the modem on a box with a Tivonet in it, so my OP still stands. Anybody got a (working!) TiVo going spare?
Thanks,
Rob.
err, just for the avoidance of excessive excitement, "completely unmodified" in this context means "without needing a network connection"; some modification to the software will still be required... we're working on options to do that! This means that we will be able to support completely unmodified TiVos on the new EPG
