Have you gone in and removed the 300's channels from "channels I receive"? Wishlists only go off of the channels you receive and shouldn't grab the channels you don't.
Local Channels/Keywords
I have always had a problem when my TIVO wants to record a show which I have keywords set for. It automatically wants to record the networks that are in the 300's instead of recording the networks that actually air the show, channels 7, 10, 13, etc. If I do not see this in the To do list and correct it, the shows are not recorded. Is there anything I can do, or do I just have to continue checking and correcting the To Do List?

Since you said keywords, it appears that you are attempting to record via a WISHLIST. WISHLIST are really not made to record series, so I recommend that you switch your recordings to use SEASON PASSES instead. WISHLISTS will pull recordings from any channel, SEASON PASSES are channel specific.Alztybrn said:I have always had a problem when my TIVO wants to record a show which I have keywords set for. He's talking about recording shows that match his desired keywords, not recording a specific series. Not sure how you got that out of what he said.

But it would likely be a series if he believes it should record on a network broadcast on the local channels. I did realize that he was talking about keywords, which meant that he was using a WISHLIST with AUTO RECORD. And if he used too broad of a keyword we could be recording far too many shows.
I had already read SpacemanSpiff's response and I wanted to make sure that he knew that SEASON PASSES where channel specific and that WISHLIST AUTO RECORDS are not.
Was there a reason you responded?
In this case, neither of us knew the specifics of what he was attempting to record, so depending upon those details, either answer could be correct.

Some of things that we didn't know from his post,
1. Does he have east and west coast network feeds in the 300's and was that what he was talking about?
2. How many 300 series channels would he have to remove? 1, 10, 50, or all of them?
3. Is the keyword associated with a series?
4. Of the 300 series channels that he would have to remove from "Channels Received", does he want to record or watch a show on any of those channels?
As you can see, a simple remove the offending 300 series channels from the "Channels Received" could be a VERY BAD SOLUTION, but neither of us have any real idea if it would work for him, because his post did not contain enough detail to make a proper recommendation. And that is why I attempted to point out that SEASON PASSES are channel specific and WISHLIST KEYWORD AUTO RECORDS are not.
You might want to think about the possible problems that could occur if he removed channels from the 'Channels I Recieve' list.

But if he doesnt get the 300 series networks , which are east and west coast feeds of the major networks, then how did the 300 series network channels get selected unless he selected everything or just the specific 300 series network channels in the Channels Received. So, I guess I would recommend that if he doesnt receive the specific 300 series network channels that he should remove them from his Channels I Receive, but then again I would also recommend that he does not use a KEYWORD WISHLIST AUTO RECORD to record a network series. If he was attempting to record something that would be specific to only a local network feed like a local high school football game, then it would not likely show up in the east/west coast network channels, unless of course he lives in NY or LA.
Still, I believe that we do not have enough information in the single post on what he was attempting to do to make a prefect recommendation.
By default, a DirecTV DVR has ALL channels selected in the Channels You Receive list. So you have to manually remove these channels so that the SP and Wishlists don't use them. Since the OP is getting his locals via DirecTV, it is safe to say that he isn't authorized for the DNS version. Even if he were, he could then set the SP for the show to record on the channel he wants.
All channels are selected by default. When I first read his post I didn't realize that maybe he didn't setup up his DirecTiVo correctly, but then again all of us should realize that not everyone is technically inclinded, and even if they are, they may not understand DirecTV (going on 12 years) or TiVo (almost 6 years).David Platt said:All channels are selected by default.
