This has been covered before and I have searched this forum and read all past postings..... ( Selecting TiVo button then Live TV button doesn't reset the function).

I upgraded to a new LG C9 OLED TV and now Live Tv button doesn't swap tuners. TiVo and TV are connected to a Onkyo AVR.

I can see and swap tuners by selecting info button.

Reboot of TiVo re-enables the Live TV button every time. When I turn the TV off then on again this function is lost again until the TiVo is rebooted.

Any idea on what signal the LG TV is sending the TiVo?

I never knew that if you keep pressing the "live TV" it will toggle the tuners. Thanks I will now use this new found function.

I don't have the problem on Sony or Sharp/Roku, TE3 or TE4. Have you tried a soft reset?

Thanks but no luck.

There's something going on between the AVR, TV, TiVo, Fire TV HDMI handshake.

Engineering the he** out of it now.

I suspect it's the TV ARC sound selections that are causing my issue. But still isolating the problem. Not related but I have to sleep the Fire TV before changing devices or the TV will only see the Fire TV and not the TiVo.

I was going to ask if you had programmed another universal remote (LG TV?) for the TiVo as there is an early TiVo code for Live TV that would do this (put the TiVo into the earlier mode until reboot).

Scott
Thanks Scott.

No universal remote and I saw the other posts on this issue. OLEC CEC off fixed the issue.

Now I'm debating TiVo HDMI connections directly to the TV or a new AVR to improve picture quality. 1080P on the new TV just doesn't look right. TiVo-AVR / TV are 25' apart and old wires are in the wall.

See questions here:
HDMI cable and TiVo connections suggestions?

Bolt+ HDMI connections - Via old AVR or direct to new OLED TV?

TiVo to a direct TV connection provides for better picture quality in my case.
