Just wondering where best to plug in a Roku and send sound to my soundbar.

Facts:
TV with 2 HDMI ports (one has ARC)
Tivo Premiere HDMI plugged into TV (non ARC)
Yamaha sound bar with 2 HDMI ports (one has ARC-Plugged into ARC of TV)

That leaves No HDMI Ports on TV but one on the soundbar.

I'm not home to test but is it possible to add a Roku to this mix without buying anything or using optical/toslink?

Maybe connect the Tivo to the non arc HDMI of the soundbar then connect the Roku to the non arc of the tv?

Appreciate any input.

I think that you should be able to plug the Roku into the soundbar's other HDMI port and have it feed the soundbar which feeds the TV.

How old is your TV? Use this as an opportunity to upgrade to a bigger/4K TV.

It's 4 yr old cheapie. Insignia 40 inch.

I'll try plugging the Roku into the soundbar see what happens. I could also buy a 1. New TV with more HDMIs or 2. Buy a HDMI switch.
