Crews is growing on me; especially the whole investigation into the crime he was convicted for. It just somehow is grabbing my interest as he's investigating it further.

This is the first show I've seen and Crews grew on me as well. Having missed the first two already, did he already own the Grand National or was it the same one at shop and he bought it from the tattoo guy?

There were several good scenes: at the shop, the knife with the Samoan, pulling over his ex, the fence at end...

IMO "Life" is best new show of 2007. Fingers crossed, this is how I felt about "Boomtown".

If "Life" was given any pre-season hype, I somehow missed it. The blurb in TV Guide didn't capture its qualities.

I'm not a fan of the mainstream police dramas: L&O, CSI etc. I enjoy "Without a Trace" and some of "Mystery!". I wonder if "Life" draws a similar audience? Is its audience large (and valued) enough to keep the show on the air?

I don't the think the ratings are bad or good I think it is right in the middle and doing like pretty well in the 18-49 demo. I think they will give it some time and maybe move it elsewhere if a better slot opens since they are not going to dent CSI's audience and are barely trailing Dirty, Sexy, Money and that is only doing well because of its lead in.

Still I am really digging this show. The shot of him chasing the guy after the flash grenade was just really well done and when they guy pulled the knife and you could see if go back to that jailhouse guy it was just pitch perfect acting.

I like this show a lot. I like various police dramas but not the "chains" like L&O and CSI. I do watch Medium, Criminal Minds, Numb3rs, Monk (not a drama of course), Mystery!, and of course The Wire.

The car was not in any previous episode: he just got it. His previous car was a sweet BMW (I think) but his accountant accidentally crushed it with a backhoe in the first episode (that was funny!) I like how he got the new car tricked out with police lights

He pulled over the new husband of his ex-wife in the first episode too, but she wasn't in the car that time. He just gave the husband a ticket. They made it seem like he was lying in wait for the new husband rather than just happening across them, as in this ep.

The "who killed the family" arc is definitely the draw to this series. The MOTW have been not as interesting; this one in particular didn't do much for me.

What ever happened to his dad's new fiance? I don't remember any resolution to that last week and they didn't pick it up this week either. Did she just go back home?

Loved the scene with the fence... "A fence?" "A fence?"

Also: "Crews, you are the man!" "What? Oh... yeah... I guess I am the man!" And the knife fight was excellent (although the Samoan definitely had the upper hand here with a knife to the throat--he might get cut in "unpleasant places" but Crews was unquestionably dead).

His first car was a Bentley. Even better than a BMW.

Still one of my favorites of the new season!

Good episode, the chemistry is gelling, and I like how they are building things little by little, dropping them in but not hitting us over the head with them, like the obviously wrenching feelings the ex-wife still has for him (and against him), despite her commitment to her current husband and life, like the moments when Crews is obviously still adjusting to being free, being "the man," etc. I like the fact that the father's new fiancee wasn't in this episode. We'll obviously see her again (especially because she wasn't a no-name), but I like the lifelike (pun intended) nature of how things are building.

The moment between him and Adam Arkin behind the fence was the best piece of acting so far. In any of the new shows I've seen.

Did you notice that he moved from fresh fruit to a caramel apple?

It's interesting that although he's been exonerated (apparently so thoroughly that he was able to get the settlement and his job back), hardly anybody from his old life can stand having him around. It's horribly unfair, and very psychologically realistic.

Oh and I saw today they did order a additional scripts for the show and probably on the basis of how strong those are then they will pick up the show for the season.

We love this show!

The scene with him watching his cell phone vibrate across the table had us in stitches!

I like how a lot of shows are having the main characters get a classic American car instead of foreign vehicles, i.e. the Dodge Charger in Burn Notice and now the Buick Grand National in this show. Now THAT's a car to get attached to. :up: Pure American horsepower!

That was great! I just love when he realizes his new position in life or is so amazed by tecnology advances since he went to jail, like the vibrating cellphone or the Onstar last week).

I didn't see hardly any preseason hype for Life. The only reason I started watching was because I loved Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers. He's excellent in this to. I love all the quirky things he does. Watching him eat the apple in the first episode was great.

I FF'd past the same two commercials over and over, but it only took watching once to know I was going to watch at least the pilot.

The NY Times had a good review before it first aired too.

Actually, the NY Times turned me on to all three of my favorite new shows this season: Life, Reaper, Pushing Daisies.

There was a goof in this episode. About 50 minutes into the show when Crews and Reese goes to arrest the victim's husband the bandage on his forehead is on the wrong side in one of his close-ups.

From a Bentley to a Grand National?? That pushes my suspension of disbelief a bit.

I was confused at the end about how tattoo guy gets the fat guy into the van... Did they know each other or what? It just seemed very contrived in the way it ended.

Yeah he was on the list of known accomplices after the pulled the Somoan fingerprint out of the car and ID'd him. He wanted to find the Samoan too because he owed the guy like $11k.
