I have a couple TE3 Roamios with upgraded drives (8/12TB for one, 8/10TB the other). Both (all 4 drives) would reboot constantly when connected to internet. Decided to play with one of the 8TB in the OTA Roamio. Was still rebooting. Even though I had tried kickstart 58 before decided to try it again. Got it to pause, hit 58 and nothing happened. So hit "5" again and the lights flashed so took the code. But obviously not 58 since the last button I hit was a 5. Continued on, got a green screen of death. Was very worried as I heard KS57 causes a GSOD on TE3 Roamios and can brick the drive. BUT after awhile it came back (phew, nearly full 8TB drive, thought I lost it all). A few settings gone but everything else intact. But no channels. KS55 has something to do with tuners. I had to rerun guided setup to get my channels back. Worked. BUT, the big news is, it is no longer rebooting. At least for now. So perhaps the 55 with the GSOD did something that solved the reboot problem!!

I may try this with my other 3 drives that reboot when connected to the net. Would be something I NEVER would have considered, a KS55 to solve a problem like that? And all by accident, I guess when I hit 58 i did not hit the "8" hard enough, then when I hit 5 I ended up with a 55 instead of a 58. Am going to let it run awhile to make sure no more reboots, will do connections, recordings, searches, navigating menus to test.

A discovery is said to be an accident meeting a prepared mind.

There is something strange about this drive. Since doing testing I am connecting and rebooting a lot. After reboot sometimes the drive shows 95% full, 64HD hours available. Other times it shows 99% full, 12 HD hours available. With nothing changed, no new recordings, no deleted recordings. That's a lot of space, I estimate 300GB or so. I remember seeing the same thing when I upgraded the 8 to the 12. Sometimes the 12 would show like 64% full, other times 67% full. With no change in recordings. Can't explain, just figured I'd post the info.

Could it be TiVo suggestions? Or possibly permanently deleting deleted programs to make space and aged out programs being moved to deleted programs.

No, everything exactly the same, no suggestions, same recordings and same recordings in recently deleted. Happens after connection and reboot. I think with these large upgraded drives best to keep under 90% shown AND occasionally permanently delete some items in recently deleted folder. So the drive is never completely full.

I got the 14TB drive. Cloned the rebooting 10TB to it (so basically the same as the 10TB). The 10TB is running in my cable TE3 Roamio. The 14 being used as a 10 still had the rebooting issue. Tried a KS 58, same as the 10, stuck at "installing update" screen. Tried the KS55, it ran but seemed to do nothing, did not get the GSOD and channels were intact. Ran a KS57. Ended up in GSOD loop. Was able to get out of it running MFST mfsck. So back to start, nothing solved the reboot when connected to net (if not connected all is fine). My next test is to delete and permanently delete a load of recordings, already got it down from 84 to 74% (nothing in recently deleted folder) but still rebooting, will keep experimenting. The 10TB drive is fine by the way, no errors. May end up trying a clear and delete everything to see what happens, still have the 10TB intact in case things go sour.
