I thought this was a really good episode. Colton is a little bad arse. It was good to see Taylor made to cry at the town hall, but it seems it might just be an act. I fear for the man she marries someday.

I do think despite Greg's juvinelle outbursts at times, he still probably does deserve a star at some point. It was good to see a younger kid get it though.

I know they come off as a lot of little adults, but I just think some of the dynamics of them being there really came out in this episode. I also think getting the microwave was dumb. You don't need a microwave to cook there. They would have been better off enjoying the pizza. Especially considering the lack of decent food the yellow team seemed to have been putting out.

Your reward: a Frontier Microwave or Frontier Pizza! LOL
Of course it's a frontier microwave. Didn't you see it was made out of wood?

Agree.

Kind of agree.

Disagree.

:)

I <3 Mallory.

Taylor will marry someone like her father. I'm guessing she's just like her mother. How many times has Taylor heard "Deal with it!" from her parents... :(

Greg continues to show he's an ass and just performing for the star. Unless I missed something and his outburst this show was repeat footage from the last one, you just can't give the start to someone who spends a portion of the voting period that disruptive and mean. He needs to be helpful and have a good attitude the entire time since the previous vote to even be considered, in my opinion.

I think the microwave is better than the pizzas. Not by a ton, but with 33 days to go it's the better call. I think they'll find many ways that it will help them in the kitchen. If there were 5 days to go I'd vote pizza.

Morale is not so low this soon that they need to select the pick me up choice. Perhaps a few shows from now...

Microwave was a bad choice. It is a small one. Trying to heat up or cook for 39 kids won't help any. The Green team took over the rains in cooking, can't be worse than the yellow team. Loved it when Taylor cried!

Taylor did deserve the attack, and I like how it resolved...

The microwave easily fit 3 cups of hot cocoa. While everyone probably doesn't like cocoa, most kids do.

And it was butt cold quite recently.

That microwave and cocoa will warm a lot of spirits and little bodies. Making cocoa by boiling water would be quite an ordeal -- especially with no cocoa. :p

Not to mention the other things (soup, melted cheese, etc.) they can use it for.
Taylor and her "Get over it" can get old. Though she made the right choice with the microwave. She cant handle getting treated the way she treats others. You can tell she has a crush on Greg.

The kids throwing the flower all over the place should be penalized for it.

Greg voting for himself was sad, especially with how he acted at the start of the show and I'm sure is that way most of the time. He only does well when he thinks it will make him look good.

I actually like greg the best instead of putting up a phoney personality to kiss ass/look good he is himself. I mean come on you don't think that 20k is not motivation to anyone now? I think it is funny when greg's strength is needed they love him but when he is not usefull he is a jack ass to them. Honestly those kids are lucky they have greg instead of myself. If I got screwed over because someone was having a bithday and home sick I would of found a way to get revenge. I hope greg leads a revolt against those in change especially taylor.
This has gotta be most entertaining reality show on television. Watching those kids getting all amped up on caffeine and sugar in the saloon was hilarious. So was the sheep wrangle. That Colton is pretty tough. I'm sure his daddy is proud.

I hope Taylor loses her spot on the council. The citizens are growing weary of her fascist ways. I can't wait for another kid to make a power grab and try to oust her. The crying for sympathy trick is only gonna work once or twice.

Greg is a little punk. And his sidekick, Blaine, is pathetic. Yeah hotshot, using four-letter words in front of little kids makes you a real tough man. I hope the council dangles that gold star like a carrot in front of him for the remainder of the month. Using his size and age to bully others is the lowest thing he could do.

There's no caffeine in root beer...

I certainly didn't know how to drink a boilermaker when I was 15. Wonder what was in the shot glass?

:)

We were a bit taken aback by the "drinking games" too. And the "Chug! Chug! Chug!" chants.

Harmless, but yowzers.
I liked the parents for the first time on this show.

Those pizzas could have been the crappy tombstone kind. I know kids like pizza but if it had been genuinely good pizza vs a microwave it would have been a much tougher call. Instead if was a microwave and coacoa vs potentially cardboardy pizza. No brainer.

Seems like they introduce kids we've not seen for one of three reasons: to annoy us, to make us think they might go home, or because they will win a gold star. It's almost like this show applies ebert's law of economy of character despite being a reality show.

Why was it so hard to get a card from the neck of the herd there? I thought they actually had to put them somewhere at first, but when I realized it was just grabbing the card around their neck, I felt like surely they inflated the time lapse for excitement...

That's exactly why he doesn't deserve it. People shouldn't have to be "watched" to act right. They should just act right. Especially in a situation like this where they are trying to "survive". Sophia and Michael are just good kids and they were recognized for that. They didn't act right just to get a $20k star.

You can't seriously believe none of the other kids are "acting"... can you?
Taylor reminds me of many of the recent college kids that have worked briefly at my company over the years. They have NEVER had to work a day in thier lives. Every little non-negative action they have ever done always earned them a 'wow, you are smart, pretty and the best'. Once the criticism starts, they freak out.

Anyone else notice Taylor has the horrible floresent white teeth? I bet they glow everytime the microwave is turned on.

If Taylor doesn't really get better, she needs to be replaced at next meeting. The other three seemed to be doing good jobs.

Yeah the saloon scene is both funny and disturbing. Disturbing in that why the heck are all these kids dropping shots in their rootbeer. Where the heck did they pick that up from.. Goes to show you how impressionable kids are... It was downright scary. :) They were having fun... but it was just weird them all doing the shots like that...

I think that what they're doing is filling the glass with the syrup concentrate, then filling the smaller glass with carbonated water. Drop the shot glass in, instant soda mix (with lots of foaming action).

Interesting...

And probably right.

But one of them (uhh Greg maybe?) must have been doing Flaming Dr. Peppers with the local University kids.

:D
I laughed out loud (and replayed several times) at the very end when Sophia pushed the kid through the hammock. I don't remember exactly what was said but it was something like:

kid - "What did I ever do to you?"
Sophia - "Nothing."

And just walks away. It was just so unexpected and simultaneously out of character and in character for Sophia.
