I don't know if there are many more likable personalities in TV than Kenan Thompson.

But oh boy, this was awwwwwful. Half stale sitcom cliches/rejected SNL talk show sketch ideas and half truly uncomfortable moments that he doesn't really have the gravitas to pull off (and probably shouldn't be trying in a sitcom, anyway). And I think there was a better way to reference his late wife in the story than "romancing his improperly cast TV mom".

At this time, cannot recommend. Will still watch to see if they figure themselves out.

Agreed it was bad. The premise was totally half-baked. At one point, they referenced that the wife had died a year ago. So why is this all of a sudden an issue that has to be dealt with ASAP? They never explained that.

Not surprised - he's not that good on SNL IMO. In 90% of the sketches he's in, he's constantly smirking. I always enjoyed his David Ortiz on WU though.

I agree. He and Beck are my favorite male cast members.

Here, I couldn't stand the morning show. I couldn't stand to watch him mess up. I enjoy watching Ted Danson make the same type mistakes. I guess it's because Kenan could lose his job while The Mayor doesn't need one.

I was happy at least to see Douglas' girlfriend from "Single Parents" as his boss.

Scenes at home were much better. I like the kids. I like Don Johnson and don't really know why, because he wasn't this type of character when he was a lawyer on The WB and the only other show I've seen him in was "Nash Bridges" which I watched for Cheech and only saw a few episodes of.

But if we have to see him at work every week I need to transfer future episodes to the Bolt and wait until I've finished everything else I don't want to see.

At least his wife looks good but that sitcom? Better as an SNL sketch maybe.

The show had a weird rhythm to it that made me very uncomfortable. It was as if they wrote it to be a multi-camera sitcom with a laugh track, but then they changed their mind at the last second. I like Kenan and Don Johnson, though, so I'll stick with it a bit longer. Hopefully, it will settle into a more natural groove in episode two.

It's okay, but nothing really worth sticking around for. I'm already tired of them mining the dead wife for comedy. If that's going to be the entire premise, I won't make it thru the 3rd episode.

I thought the second episode was wonderful. Except for the parts at work, and I'm not counting the live on the scene report by Kenan as "work" because the co-workers I don't like were there. Only the boss who was on "Single Parents".

Don Johnson and the brother are both great. But what made the second episode work is it's a "situation comedy" and this was a very funny situation.
