Hi guys and gals :)

Just noticed something new and unimproved :( Any ideas???
Bolt, OTA, never filled up, currently 14%.
I have all one passes set to "keep until I delete".
When selecting show from guide or suggestions and changing to "keep until I delete" I stated getting a message saying changing will cause 3 or so shows not to be recorded in 10 days or so!
Does this make sense to anybody? If I don't change to "keep until I delete" may it be deleted after date shown even if there is no space shortage?? This also makes no sense to me.

Thanks
John

Thanks Joe...
Is there any way to delete all w/o going thu each and confirming? Seems not convenient. Are you saying programs won't be deleted after date shown if space is available?
That's exactly what he's saying, if there's space it will live there for years with a yellow dot.

There's really no reason to use KUID on your SP/OPs since the system will plan out space for everything in the next 2 weeks queue and since items 2 weeks forward can have generic descriptions it plans to record them for safety.

Did you check your todo list? Is it possible (possibly due to bad guide information) that one or more of your season passes is showing a lot more scheduled recordings than normal? Or did you add more season passes recently?

The way I seem to remember the KUID interacting with estimated deletion is the TiVo assumes that you will never, ever, delete a recording, even after you've watched it. So if you've got 90 hours of free space but over the next 2 weeks have 92 hours of scheduled recordings the TiVo starts "panicing" and reporting that it'll be forced to stop recording before getting to those final 2 hours. (Even though in actuality you'll probably have watched and deleted the majority of those new episodes well before then)

What she said.
Here's how it works. When your disk gets full, programs in the deleted folder get killed off, one at a time. The Deleted folder is not sorted. First in = first killed. Recover a program moves it back to the beginning. No, no quick way but there are other programs, like kmttg, that can do that however. New program for 1 step TTG downloads, decryption, encoding - kmttg but I don't use it. My method:
I have basic Roamio boxes with 3TB or 1TB drives. I record late night on both drives. I record prime time on both drives. After I watch a program I delete it. Every Sunday I kill all the programs in my Deleted folder except late night. Every month I check the end or bottom. If the TiVo has killed any programs, my drive is physically full and I kill the entire month. That's usually about 50 programs. On the 3TB drive, saving only Jimmy Kimmel, I have programs going back to 10/2017. It has never filled up.

To stop the yellow dots, set your 1P "Keep at Most:" to "All". Most third party (and your TiVo) assign yellow dots based on the date, not the storage used. You can view the Keep Until date on a program. It moves every day. Even if your "My Shows" causes 100% use of the drive, it will just be moved to the Deleted folder first.

Do you have the season pass set to only record a certain number of shows? If e.g. you have it set to keep up to 10 shows, it won't record any after you've saved a bunch?

The replies in the thread that you appear to have not read address the issue sufficiently, are there any more questions? we're happy to help if you ask.
