I thought this episode was better than last weeks. Non of the jumping forward in time crap that was hard to follow. Also showed a bit more history in to Cobb. I like how these two and their dynamic as partner's is working out so far!

Not the greatest cop series, but I thought the episode was passable and for now I'll keep watching the series. Whether or not it lasts is really all going to depend on how the ratings held up with K-Ville now up against Heroes, the CBS comedies, and other network's season premieres. Somehow I expect that 'highest rated new drama' title will only have lasted for the premiere week and after that the ratings will have seriously suffered.

Amazing how Cobb was able to walk into the same prison he was incarcerated in not so long ago and nobody recognizes him.
And how effective is he going to be as a police officer is a criminal realizes who he is and tries to coerce him?

Strike two.

Slightly better than the first episode, but still a little cheesy.

Come on guys, don't give FOX a reason to cancel; John Carroll Lynch needs a lot more time to work on his accent! ;) :p :D

Locations notes: The parking garage at the "airport" was shot at the parking garage of the Hilton Hotel downtown. (Crescent City Connection bridge is not visible from the airport. ;) ) En-route to the airport they were shown driving down Jefferson Highway through River Ridge. You can get to the airport from downtown New Orleans that way, but it's hardly the most direct or fastest route. Just "location" stuff a native notices. Hey, it's still shot 100% on location in New Orleans! :)

Liked the shot of the Rand McNally New Orleans map and the correct continuity of where people were pointing on the map and the places they were referring to. Realistic references to travel times, etc. too.

At least it's shot on location!! Jericho isn't, and the first several episodes of the show drove me nuts. Western Kansas does not have Hills!! I had to eventually let it go and stop trying to put reality to the story! :)

I thought it was a little too early to have the obligatory "ex-con turned cop revisits his old prison cell" episode.

I can see already that this isn't going to be a great or a very good show. I'll keep the SP as long as it remains in the ok to mediocre to sometimes good range.

New Orleans cops don't have metal badges? It looks like they are just sewn on patches.

One of the COOL things about this show is how realistic the uniforms are.

They DO have metal badges and the cops on this show DO wear very realistic NOPD badges on their uniforms. In the pilot Boulet could also be seen wearing one on a lanyard around his neck in a scene or two when he was out of uniform.

You probably missed them because NOPD badges have an unusual design.

NOPD badges look like this (stylized):

Or more realistically, this (actual photo):

They were wearing those badges when they were dressed in the black jackets (or shirt or suit, I can't remember) with "New Orleans Police Department" on the back?

I'd have to go back and rewatch. I don't recall that scene specifically.

When they were in the normal blue uniform, they definitely were. (There's actually been a big deal made in the local media about how they're using the actual unique NOPD badge design on the uniforms.)

Again, there've been a couple of scenes in which Boulet is wearing one on a lanyard around his neck when out of uniform.

OK. On last night's episode 10/1/07, I saw what you were talking about: "Badges" that appeared to be sewn on patches.

Yup, this would appear to be a really non-realistic NOPD uniform. Real NOPD cops definitely have metal badges.

Wierd. The uniforms used in the pilot episode were quite realistic (and had metal badges). I wonder why they switched to using such unrealistic looking uniforms?
