Timothy Olyphant Set for Justified Sequel Series Set in Detroit, Inspired by Elmore Leonard's City Primeval
FX is reloading with more Justified, by way of a follow-up series again starring Timothy Olyphant.tvline.com
Yay, I look forward to more Justified
Just requested it from my library. Can't wait for this series!I read the novel ("City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit") a while ago.It was written long before Raylan Givens was created, but it should be easily re-purposed because the main character is a coolly reckless detective.
Disney owns both FX and Hulu, so it depend on who they make it for. If made for the FX channel, then it will air on both FX and Hulu. However, Disney could use this to get people to subscribe to Hulu, so it would end up on "FX on Hulu". I know not the answer you want to hear. Will this air on FX? Or just streaming via FX/Hulu? I loved Justified, and I can imagine how something set in Detroit would work. If this airs on FX, hoorah! If it is only of FX/Hulu streaming, I piss on their graves!!!
I'd watch Raylan Givens be Raylan Givens until he was 80+ if it were up to me. So happy we are getting just a little bit more. I hope they change their minds on the "limited" bit of that.Interview with the creators of the new series:
'Justified: City Primeval' showrunners explain why Raylan Givens is back: 'We thought we were done'
It will be on FX cable and on Hulu streaming. Detailed memory of the previous series is not essential as this is set several years in the future, in a new location, with a new cast except for Olyphant. But just for the record the last episode ended with...Will this be on FX? Or just with a paid Hulu subscription? The trailer is funny, but not enough go get a commitment from me beyond the first 2 episodes. Yeah, I'll give it a 2 ep audition. '
TBH, I have no recollection of how the series ended. I know I watched every episode but also know that while I liked the last couple seasons, they didn't leave any lasting impressions. Hopefully this series will have a long "what happened on the last episode" type of intro or maybe even start with a 30-minue recap of the 6 seasons or at least the last one.
