This episode introduced what could be a rather cool new element... this Elliot Langley guy who knew Dan's dad and as the expert on tachyons that he was referred to. Getting the phone call in the past from the future contact... curious.

I agree with what Dswallow said. When Dan got the call in the past from Langley, I got a little chill.

That said, I hate liking this show so much... mainly because I know ratings aren't great and I worry it's not gonna make it.

I get so tired of great shows getting axed while inane sitcoms last for years.

For anyone reading this, who's not watching this show, do yourself a favor and try it. It's 4 for 4 in my book so far, and at this point, IMO, is the best new show this year.
The wife is so annoying that it's spoiling my enjoyment of the show.

If it continues, yes. But her reactions are perfectly understandable so far. They just have to find a way to move on...that doesn't involve her having an affair with the ex, which would be a REALLY annoying cliché.

I like that he involved her in this from the beginning, which was a very smart life-partner thing to do. It would be nice if he continued to bring the people in his life into, well, his new life, perhaps as a counter to the growing number of other people who seem to be involved in his new life, and who may or may not have his best interests in mind.
The way to move on is divorce I'm afraid. Unless he gets some control over when he travels, then they're never going to have any semblance of a stable marriage or family life. (No spoilers but judging from the previews an incident next week is going to make that crystal clear.) I hope they have a resolution in mind that I haven't thought of, but I just can't see things working out for them.

I also wish there was some way he could convince the brother and his boss that he's time-traveling. Sometime soon I'm going to get very tired of the whole "Dan must be drunk/crazy/addicted to something" storyline. I'm way more interested in what happens in Dan's "traveling" life than I am in his present-day life.

I don't think they need to get divorced, but he needs to realize soon, that he can't do anything that could have disastrous consequences if he "travels" unexpectedly. This isn't much different than if he had some other physical ailment, like epilepsy. At least he is figuring out that his traveling is preceded by a headache, in case he is driving, etc.

I agree about the brother. There needs to be a concerted effort to convince the brother that he is time traveling. I'm not sure what it would take to convince him, but maybe he'll run into him in the past, and find out some dirt on him that he couldn't possibly know - like he was having an affair or something.

His brother is the one who was chasing him for p[assing the modern $20 bill in the past, right? So, albeit slowly, they're planting some clues he'll be able to use to convince his brother he's time traveling... or perhaps it'll be his brother who figures it out on his own.
I think it's a good sign that things are moving quickly--that implies that they are moving towards something.

I just hope the show gets the chance to get there...
So was I the only one that LOL'd when one of the first lines of the show was: Oh boy. :)

Good episode. I wonder what Livia does as a time traveler for her to say that line about not obeying rules when you're traveling and it's pretty much anything goes.

Also, did I miss it again? Why did Dan have to save the lady from being murdered/going to prison. What was her contribution to the greater good that warranted her being saved?

Another thought I had...why can't there be a future Dan that can time travel back to help save his present day marriage ;)
I too like this show a lot. I hope they get a chance to wrap things up even if it does get canceled. I read that they had ordered more scripts at least.

I can certainly understand the wife right now... gotta be an awful situation.

And if you saw the trailer for next week, they show a scary scenario that I've been thinking about...
Dan travelling back in time while he's out with his son... and thus just disappears, leaving his son all alone.

I was thinking about that too, but I think in this case it was on a smaller scale. He changed the future for both the woman and the cop. He saved the woman's life, while at the same time saving the cop from being falsely accused of murder.
I'm really enjoying this show as well. I appreciate the fact they have continued with the wife's storyline. It adds some reality to the sci-fi aspect of the show. Please, don't get cancelled!!!
I thought they really stepped it up this episode. I like the fact that the traveling is becoming easier for him... he doesn't seem pass out anymore (aside from the beginning).

It's also weird that his traveling is happening all within that neighborhood with the Cafe Luna.

I can't wait to see where the scientist stuff is going.

I'm thinking every traveler is assigned to a familiar area, in order to make things easier for them.

So I guess what's happening is that multiple time lines are running at the same time, and will intersect at various points, but that they can't change within themselves or be stopped. That's why, for example, he can't redo things, but only move forward in time in each mission. And that's why he can't travel at convenient times, but has to be pulled out from his time line into the other when a certain event is happening in that other time line.

In that case, it'll be interesting to see how they explain the phone call from the past (or future?).
I wonder how the show would feel if we re-edit all the episodes at the end of the season so it ran completely chronologically.

:)
Yeah the Professor calling him in the past is a bit curious. Maybe he's the one causing Dan to travel? As far as the wife goes..
next weeks preview is sure to land him in the dog house!
By the way, I wonder if they keep track of all the different time lines and how people interact? Seems like with him going back to a small geographical area, during a fairly limited time span, there's a good chance to screw things up. :)

I guess the implication was that she was originally murdered by her new boyfriend/parter, but the cop was blamed because he was kind of a stalker. Which is why there was no proof to him killing her, because he didn't do it.

I got the impression he probably was in the background during at least one camera shot. If it wasn't on-air footage it's probably at least in the station archives among the raw footage.

I have a hunch that everything going on during these trips is significant in a bigger-picture sense. I also have a hunch the people he's saving are significant in a bigger-picture sense. I'd like to think a lot of this stuff will come together as time goes by (no pun intended)...
