Exactly my thoughts. The series ended perfectly, no need to drag it out.Is this truly necessary? I felt the series wrapped itself up fairly nicely.
Actually, it's a book that was turned into a movie that was turned into a tv show that was turned into a movie. So, a movie gets turned into a TV show and back into a movie? Which cast will be in the new movie?
I agree. I would however, be in favor of a prequel showing the early days of Coach and Mrs T's relationships and careers.Exactly my thoughts. The series ended perfectly, no need to drag it out.
Personally, I don't get this. I don't understand why people can't be happy with what we have. There are relatively few prequels that work and doing so would probably require you to ditch Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.I agree. I would however, be in favor of a prequel showing the early days of Coach and Mrs T's relationships and careers.
I agree. Same goes for the Flintstones. Why does Seth MacFarlane feel that he needs to put HIS imprint on that classic and innocent cartoon series? :down:Personally, I don't get this. I don't understand why people can't be happy with what we have. ...

... With DVD's and Netflix and Hulu where we can watch these shows repeatedly, why do we need to expand on a story needlessly?
I am sure there will be a book about the movie.Actually, it's a book that was turned into a movie that was turned into a tv show that was turned into a movie.
Maybe they can then write a book on the new movie to bring the series back around.
And really the tv show > movie > book.
I don't get it either. We are happy with what we have, it's the movie moguls that are trying to suck the FNL teat dry and not let it just end well.Personally, I don't get this. I don't understand why people can't be happy with what we have. There are relatively few prequels that work and doing so would probably require you to ditch Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton.
The show is much more about a family who works at a high school where the father is football coach and the mother is faculty. I think the show caught on mostly because of the impressively realistic portrayal of this family and the students involved. The family just feels real. All I have ever seen of this story is the original movie and several high school football games in Odessa back in the '80s. I was surprised to see the TV show catch on and become popular but I was never interested in watching it. I am even more surprised a new movie is planned. I had never seen anything like high school football in Odessa and Midland back in the '80s, it was something it seems almost everybody that lived in the area paid attention to.
If you never watched the show, you have missed out on arguably one of the best TV shows of all time. It's not about football, it's about life in a small Texas town where everything revolves around football. All I have ever seen of this story is the original movie and several high school football games in Odessa back in the '80s. To be precise, it's a non-fiction "year in the life" book that was turned into a "based on a true story" movie that was turned into a fictional TV show that is being turned into a fictional movie.Actually, it's a book that was turned into a movie that was turned into a tv show that was turned into a movie.![]()
