I have a TivoHD and I have a season pass setup for "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." In case you don't know anything about the show, or in particular, how FX airs it, they air two episodes a week, back-to-back on Thursday nights.

In the guide, the two shows show up as one program lasting an hour and hour minutes. The description shows both shows. However, when it begins recording - both tuners on my TivoHD tune to FX, and record two copies of Its Always Sunny - an 1:04 minute one, and a 30 minute one. However, both tuners stay occupied for the full 1:04 minutes.

The 1:04 minute program contains both shows as it should, while the 30 minute show only contains the second episode (and gets cut off four minutes early).

What the heck is going on here? Should I report this as a bug???

Happens to me too. I suspect there's bad guide data somewhere. Yeah, report it.

Ah, so that is what happened. Mine did this and I noticed it, but I did not take the time to determine what the heck happened.

has happened here for every single new episode this season. I get a 1 hour block and then a separate 30 min recording for the second episode even though it is already recording.

I notice this last week and it cause me to not record Big Shots. What is happening is that the shows are originally scheduled as two separate 30 minute recordings and then at the last minute it is getting changed to an 1 hour long show, so one of my schedule recordings is extended to an hour and the other 1/2 hour records stays scheduled as well. This week I kept checking to see if it would do it again and up until Thursday they were two different 1/2 hour records but on Thursday it switched to an hour long show.

I noticed the same problem last season.

The guide data gets imported, 2 half hour shows, the season pass grabs them.
One tuner gets the nod recording each half hour, leaving the other tuner for another 8pm (or whatever time they are on) show.

The guide data gets redone, 1 hour show, the season pass says hey, I haven't recorded an hour show yet, so it puts the 2 half hour shows on one tuner, and records the hour long one on the other tuner, not knowing they are the same shows.

This blows out a lower priority SP that would have been recording on the other tuner.

I fixed the conflict by moving Sunny down the list.
It reairs so many times during the week, it's bound to be able to find another airing.

I think last week I missed one of the half hours, so I set it up to record the hour long on just in case (wasn't quite sure which half hour I missed)

I called Tivo support today, and the technician I talked to actually told me he records it too, along with his brother who also works for TiVo, and they both have the same issue.

He opened a case for me, and told me if it isn't fixed within a few weeks to call back, but they are indeed working on a fix.

But the OP has a slightly different problem.

He's getting both on one tuner, and the second of the two on the other tuner, but the 30 minute recording cuts out four minutes before the show's over.
