Do a search for the "Dan 203 method" for getting shows into DVD. It's a very long thread but has some good information.
Here is what I do:
- Transfer to PC
- Open show(s) with VideoRedo (the best $50 I have ever spent on software).
- Use VideoRedo to edit out the commercials and save the file as a .VOB file.
- Use DVDStyler (free) to create a basic menu and output as a .ISO image.
- Burn the ISO using ImgBurn (free)
[EDIT] Here's the thread. Warning....it is abouyt 540 posts long at this point. I would peruse the first few pages to get a general feel for what is in there and then the last few pages to see if people are doing things differently.
