I recorded "Council of Dads" last night on NBC. That's what the listings said it would be, at first, and because I had been told "Mr. Mayor" would be on, I set the Roamio to record whatever was on manually. Instead, it was two episodes of "Mr. Mayor". Which were also listed, since I had seen the change and selected season pass. So I had two versions of the same thing, differently labelled.

Something similar happened to "Blindspot", which was listed originally and replaced with "Law & Order: SVU". I manually set the Roamio to record that in case "Mr. Mayor" aired at that time.

Maybe you set the recording to Council of Dads before the guide had the correct program listed. Mr Mayor was on for two episodes that night.

That's exactly what I did, but then why would the Roamio list that it had recorded the wrong show?

The same thing happened three times yesterday. I've forgotten what movie was listed as "All I Want for Christmas". I recorded every movie just in case, and in fact all three movies were changed. I checked on what was shown under "My shows" as "Grease 2" and what I had recorded was "Year of the Dog". Quite a good movie, by the way, though I looked at imdb and most people hated it. I went to my Roamio listings and it said "Year of the Dog" had aired that afternoon. I checked on what "My shows" said was "Norbit" and it was "Grease".

Again, only thing I can think of is your guide data is way off. I force connections every day a few times to make sure it's as correct a can be.

By "guide data" you mean what appears when I look at what it says will be broadcast. Which was correct.

Yes that's what I mean. Your guide says a movie was on but the recording says a different movie was recorded. So the guide data must be incorrect.

Edit: guide data was wrong at the time of the recording but TiVo has since updated it.

Wait, no, that's backwards. My guide, meaning my listings, says the correct movie was on. "My shows", meaning what was recorded, shows what was there to begin with but not what was actually recorded.

So the guide data was not incorrect, but the guide data started out incorrect. That's what you're saying.
I can't be 100% certain that is what happened to you but that has happened to me and seems like the likeliest scenario.

I saw show 1 on a schedule and recorded it. Went to watch show 1 and it was really show 2. I went back in the guide data and at the time show 1 used to be listed it now lists show 2.
