Just a second, TIVO has finially gone USB 2.0? I have to Series 2 5xx and am wireless and didn't hear anything about this till today.

TSNs starting with 2 and 5 have USB2.0. TSNs that start with 1 (like my 140) have USB1.1.

So, to answer your question, USB2.0 hardware has been around for a while. The software only started taking advantage of it with 7.x.
