I have a TiVo HD box (not upgraded yet) and a Samsun HP-T4254 plasma TV. I'm using a HDMI cable and I have no other components attached. I got them at the same time, so I've never really run one without the other. When changing channels their is a longer lag time then I'm used to (with my old Series2 and as standard TV) , and the screen is blank (grey) and flickers once or twice before the new channel comes up. It's slightly annoying. I've gone through all the menu settings on both the TiVo and the TV.

Anyone else seeing this with the TiVo HD box?

This is not an uncommon problem with HDMI. It is trying to synchronize to the available resolution. Some TVs do a better job of this than others.

I suspect that this is due to the TV trying to resync with the HDMI input each time the channels is changed. As a test, use the component outputs.

I will comment that with my HR10, set to 1080i, I never have HDMI synchronization problems with my Sony TV. With my HR20, which has native mode turned on, there is sometimes a second or two of flashing as it adjusts to different resolutions. The HR10 does not do native mode so it's not an issue there.

Hmmm. I finally had a chance to swap out the HDMI cable for Component. The problem is worse now, and the TiVo menu movement is also slower now. Any thoughts?
